    No More Hiding: Demand Jon Husted Agree to a Public Debate

    UPDATE: The Supreme Court just issued a last-second order approving Jon Husted's cuts to early voting. But Secretary of State Husted is still refusing to defend his attacks on our freedom to vote and debate Senator Nina Turner. 

    Ohio residents’ deserve the chance to question their state leaders and make an informed decision in the upcoming elections. Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted should agree to hold a public debate with Senator Nina Turner prior to the election. 

    Stand with us and demand that Husted ensures the integrity of the voting process and agrees to a debate with Senator Nina Turner.

    Dear Secretary of State Jon Husted,

    I am writing to let you know that you are hindering Ohio voter's ability to make an informed decision in this election by not agreeing to a public debate. I demand that you agree to a publicly-televised debate with Senator Nina Turner to ensure that voters know how both candidates would manage Ohio's elections as Secretary of State for the next four years. 

    You have made statements saying your work as Secretary of State has advanced voting opportunities and making it both “easy to vote and harder cheat.” And yet, you have failed to participate in a fundamental part of the voting process: public debates.

    Public debates are an important part in deciding who will be our future state leaders. It gives us the chance to ask political leaders questions that are important to us and ensures the integrity of the electoral process.

    Senator Turner has expressed interest in a public debate. I demand that you agree to a public debate with Senator Nina Turner prior to Election Day.
